Version 4.0 of Cyclope Internet Filtering Proxy has just been released. The new version comes both with a new user interface and new reports. One of them is the Overview report added to the statistics section.
At the first run, the overview section will guide the application manager to client configuration, to define the filtering policy and to check statistics. On the normal usage of the application, the overview section aims to provide application’s manger summary statistics like the number of users currently using the product, the total amount of traffic that was recorded for the current day and the breaking rules attempts.
Researches showed that up to 3% of company annual revenue is spent on printing activities. The new version of Cyclope Enterprise Printer Monitor, which includes new features and improved reports, will help companies save up to 30% of these printing costs assuring effective print management.

Learn to prioritize tasks. Admit it that not all the tasks have the same importance and not all of them are the most urgent. There are tasks that can be done tomorrow too and nobody will be affected by this.
Schedule your work day and stop working after a certain hour (5 or 6 p.m. for example). Inform everybody you are in contact with at work about this and ask them not to call you after this time. Earlier this week, I was announcing you that we are very close to release a new version for our employee monitoring solution. Now it is official: version 4.2 of Cyclope Employee Surveillance Solution is now available. Like I informed you earlier, a big part of the new features have been implemented based on the feedback we have received from our customers and evaluators.
A new report has been included in version 4.2. “Activity timeline” is a new report available in the statistics section that provides detailed information about the chronological order of all the activities performed by employees on company’s computers. It’s almost 8 months since the last version of Cyclope Employee Surveillance Solution has been released. Well, we didn’t rest all this time we have been working hard to develop a new version. We have been collecting feedback from you: our customers and our evaluators and your opinion weighted a lot for our development plan. Thus, we are now very close to the release date of version 4.2 of our employee monitoring solution.
Here is a quick overview of the new version: a new report (timeline) which details the chronological order of employees’ activity, private time and additional administrative settings. Considering that people are used to take a nap in the middle of the day, when they are at work, and watching these numbers, we should ask ourselves what happens with employee productivity during this period? How much does this habit affect their productivity?
I have to make an important announcement today. We have completely redesigned our website. Cyclope-Series.com is online since 2006 and even if there were many improvements made over time, this is the first time when it was completely redesigned.
We really hope that through the new features the site will be more user-friendly and will provide the information needed more easily. The new structure allows an easy to navigate option and defines very well the products’ categories explaining their functionalities. Regarding the colors, we kept our color palette with small changes.
But I think the best decision is to visit yourself our new website and to come back to this pots and give us your comments regarding the design and content.
The latest major release of Cyclope Internet Filter software was in September 2008, but this does not means that there were no improvements made to the product meanwhile. Our developers worked constantly and they provided during this period more build versions improving functionalities and filtering system.
The latest improvements were finished a week ago. The most important aspect was related to system resource usage, providing reasonable memory / CPU usage for complex networks allowing a larger number of users to be monitored. Regarding the filtering option, the Block URL filter has been separated in Black List and White List features providing in this way a better usability.
Other improvements were made for the reporting and registration feature and I will briefly mention them below:
- theaggregated reporting featurehas been enhanced providing new reporting time frames
- the registration feature has been enhanced providing transparent proxy features subsequent to product expiration
There were also other bug fixing activities and now we hope that our application will provide better internet filtering. Although, we encourage you to test the application and let us know your feedback because based on your requirements we can improve new versions.
