How to manage employee attendance problems

As a manager, boss, or CEO, you rely on your employees to help you get the work done that makes your business tick. Even if one of those employees is gone, it can throw the whole pattern of your work day off. If several employees are gone in a day, you may have some extra work on your hands. However, once your employees miss several days of work in a shortperiod of time, you might have some issues.                                                                                                                                                              Employee attendance

Having a constantly late or missing employee is a huge problem for any boss needing efficiency and reliability from their employees. There are several  methods for dealing with your employees’ attendance, however based upon their work track, excuses, and previous attendance issues, you will need to work on a personal level with that single employee in order to resolve these problems.

Contact the employee personally and set up a time when you can both sit down and talk. As soon as you notice a recurring attendance issue start to arise, you should contact the employee. The longer you wait the more chances an employee has to take advantage of not being commented on their attendance. Arrange a conversation with the employee yourself and formally to let them know that this problem is very important and one that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible.

What should a good internet content filter do?

Internet content filters are an excellent way to give access to only some users to the whole of the internet, while creating blocks for users that should not be surfing different internet channels. If you have children you are probably pretty aware of what the internet can have in store from them. An internet content filter can help you by stopping a child seeing anything they aren’t supposed to. Are you an employer that allows employees to work online? Get them more focused on their work and off the internet with the special features that can be found in this type of software.

These internet content filters can be found in many different shapes and sizes. Most all internet filters should contain pop-up blockers and spam filters. Many of the basic software also include firewalls to stop any incoming traffic that shouldn’t be entering your computer. However, the extras that some internet content filters have are not the same as the next.

How can your employees’ internet activity damage the company?

We are surrounded by technology, and the constant availability to get connected and chat up a storm is addictive. The ability extends from our household, to our school classrooms. People take the internet with them when they go to their child’s soccer game, and when they are grocery shopping. While all of this is quite common practice, and still harmful to society and our public interactions, there is one place where the extent of access is hurting us and our economy.

The office is one place where social media, chatting, file downloading, and image searches should not be taking place, but it is among the top places where people spend their time online. Business estimated that the total loss of production from employees that used the internet for personal use while on the clock is in the upper 700 BILLIONS of dollars!

If you are a manager or business owner that gives access to their employees to use the internet, you should realize they will use it even when they aren’t supposed to. Allowing employees to browse the net freely during lunch or break is considered a normal activity, however once that bell rings do you know that they will go back to doing their job?
