Aggregated reports for users that login and use several machines

We have received the following question: How can I see statistics for a user that logs in and uses several machines? From one of our customers.

First of all – all the machines in the network should be monitored – meaning that Cyclope Client is installed on each workstation. If so than having access to this information is simple. See below.

Considering the fact that one user can login on multiple monitored machines (including remote logins) we suggest the following approach: create a Group named like the user name and add in that group all user logins. In this way you will be able to see all user activity (Internet, Chat, Applications) in an aggregated report.

I have attached a few screenshots with how to implement this procedure:

In the reports area you can see that my user (Dan Gurghian) logs on two different machines and in this case – in order to aggregate the activity while using both machines – I have to create a group in which I will add both users

 aggregated_reports

I go to Administration / Users and Departments managment and I create a new group that I name  Dan Gurghian – all logins

 aggregated_reports2

Drag and drop the users in this new grup

 aggregated_reports3

Save changes (it is important to use the Save Settings button in order to validate the changes)

 aggregated_reports4

Now statistics for the newly created group are available. It aggregates the activity for the same user on both machines

 aggregated_reports5

The internet activity shows the websites visited using all user accounts and if I hold the mouse cursor over one website – it will show which account was used to access the web site

 aggregated_reports6

The same approach can be used if a machine is used by more than one user – and you want to see statistics with all the activity – disregarding the user (or the users who used the machine).  You hate to create a new group, you drag and drop all the logins on the same machine, you save changes and when you view aggregated statistics with the whole activity.

Internet Activity – when was that web site accessed by one employee?

Today – one of our potential customers asked us the following question: Is it possible to see dates and times associated with internet activity?

Stating from the fact that Cyclope Employee Surveillance shows all the websites and visit duration the answer is definitely yes.

Cyclope aggregates hourly reports into daily reports and weekly reports and so on. So if a users visits examplesite.com today at 9 AM for 2 minutes and today at 11 AM for 10 minutes – you will see in the today reports that the user has spent 12 minutes on the examplesite.com. If we want to know the hours when the examplesite.com was visited and the period on time we have to follow the next steps.

In order to do that – after you select a user that have visit a website that you want to investigate – go to Statistics / Overtime and modify the working hours (for example from 9 AM to 10 AM) and go to Statistics / Internet Activity and you can select the option Show worktime only (9:00-10:00) and you will be able to see if the website was accessed in this time interval and for how many time.

I have attached a few screenshots with the details:

I have selected my user (Dan Gurghian) and I have checked the Internet Activity report and I have noticed that a non productive website (http://www.gsp.ro/ – the top sports related website in Romania) was accessed for 0:09 hours
